Now Hiring: Grants Manager

Dogwood Alliance is seeking a Grants Manager. The Grants Manager (GM) manages grant development, research, tracking, and reporting. The GM conducts team meetings and supports staff. The GM requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and team collaboration. The ideal candidate will also have excellent writing, editing, and synthesizing skills. The position also works with leadership staff. The GM reports to the Advancement Director.

Writing and Support

  • Work with leadership and staff to develop and write grant proposals
  • Collaborate with fundraising staff on marketing materials
  • Coordinate with the finance team on budgets and financial reports for funders
  • Support staff with grant reports, quarterly funder reports, and the Annual Report
  • Train and support staff to get funding

Systems Management & Research

  • Create, manage, and track queries in a database
  • Manage the grants calendar (outreach to funders, due dates, and grant cycles)
  • Upload grant reports and proposals to foundation portals
  • Keep staff on track with funder outreach and prospect portfolios
  • Track grant requests, awards, receipts of funds, and funder communication
  • Hold regular grant meetings
  • Support the internal Community Grants Program and staff

Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years of grant writing and management experience
  • Successful grant fundraising experience
  • Preferred experience writing grants for environmental nonprofits/causes
  • The ability to collaborate on projects with a variety of teams
  • Excellence in writing, editing, and project management
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Familiarity with funder databases, Slack, and Google Drive
  • Preferred experience with Foundation Directory online and EveryAction (or similar CRM)
  • Strong problem-solving
  • A management style that encourages collaboration, cooperation, and personal growth

Compensation and Benefits: Salary range is $65,000-$70,000, depending on experience. Benefits include health insurance, retirement plan, and generous paid time off. The Grants Manager is a full-time, exempt position. This is a remote position with occasional travel required. This position requires frequent Zoom meetings and phone calls.
