Today an article was posted on Food and Drink Digital about a number of companies in the fast food industry who are taking steps to reduce their impact on the environment. Not surprisingly, KFC is not one of them. While Starbucks is telling its customers to use less paper cups and providing incentives for customers to use reusable cups instead, KFC is telling its customers not to worry because their paper packaging, which by the way comes from destroyed forests here in the South, is “green”. And while McDonald’s is developing new standards to ensure sustainable forestry practices in its food packaging, KFC is promoting its paper packaging coming from business as usual destructive forestry as “sustainable”. Come on KFC, you can do better. We know you can!
