JC Woodley Memorial Fellowship for Storytelling in Environmental Justice
Do you want to make a difference in the world of climate and social justice? Dogwood Alliance is Hiring a Documentary Fellow! This fellowship is a 12-week, full-time project. It’s based in Western North Carolina. As a Documentary Fellow, you will:
- Produce a video documentary. It must explore an environmental justice issue.
- Design and execute an environmental justice lesson plan for children ages 6-12. They are participants of the Horizons program. You will be a mentor to students in the Black Student Union. Both programs are in Asheville, NC.
- Deepen your understanding of the environmental justice movement in the Southern US

Volunteer Opportunities
We have volunteer opportunities to share with you so you can share your love for Southern forests. At Dogwood Alliance, we count on our volunteers to help us make a big impact for Southern forests and communities. Volunteers are involved at every level of the organization. Our projects include research, campaigning, outreach and media. Or help with fundraising and organizational management. It doesn’t matter whether you are new to environmental campaigning or a seasoned veteran. If you are serious about protecting forests, Dogwood has space for you.
