Ask Mississippi to Axe Drax’s Pollution

Drax burns forests for energy at an industrial scale. Producing wood pellets emits constant air and noise pollution. Biomass pollution can cause heart and lung disease. It can also cause cancer. Drax claims community safety is a priority. Yet Drax knows their plants emit hazardous air pollutants.
Drax’s US plants have broken environmental rules more than 11,000 times.
Regulators fined their Mississippi and Louisiana plants millions of dollars for exceeding air pollution limits. Instead of reducing pollution, Drax has a new permit under review in Mississippi.
Drax wants permission to emit even MORE pollution at their Amite Bioenergy plant in Gloster.
The MS Dept of Environmental Quality (MS DEQ) permitting board has the power to do more. They can make Drax install stronger pollution protections. The permit board answers to Governor Tate Reeves. The governor must defend the Gloster community. The residents of Gloster, MS are tired of Drax profiting at the expense of their health.
Urge Governor Reeves to hold Drax accountable.
