Protect the Okefenokee from Mining

Twin Pines Minerals is one step closer to mining at the doorstep of the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge. Their heavy mineral mine would destroy 300+ acres of wetlands. They’ll pump more than 1.4 million gallons of groundwater every day from the Floridan Aquifer. They’ll spew air and water pollution. And they’ll dig into the Trail Ridge that keeps the swamp’s water balanced. The Okefenokee Swamp is an ecological treasure too great to risk.

We must protect the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge!

Georgia’s Environmental Protection Division (GA EPD) is accepting public comments through April 9th. There’s no time to lose. Tell the GA EPD to protect the Okefenokee.

Submit a personal message to make it stand out. Urge GA EPD to deny the permits.

We will deliver your message to the Georgia Environmental Protection Division
