The event focused on the changing needs in the certified forest products industry and identified the most valuable elements of forest certification while elevating strategies to deliver that value to forest products companies and large customers.

Recently, I was fortunate to be asked to speak in a live panel interview at the ASTC world conference about my youth activist experiences. ASTC has been around for 40 years. Everyone I met was highly educated especially in science. I was very nervous, but it was incredible to share my experiences with others and to learn from others too. I spoke at Raleigh, NC Science museum. Everyone was so thoughtful and interested in saving our planet in one way or another. It was inspiring! I learned if you truly believe in something, speak out so others hear you and get inspired to help save our planet too.
McDonald’s Commits Their Golden Arches to Sustainability
We all know McDonald’s has a long road ahead in becoming a sustainable business – if that is really even possible in any honest sense of the word. In 2013, only 14% of their paper was either certified or recycled, but the company itself has acknowledged that it can and plans to do better.
New Report: Greening Fast Food Packaging
Our new report, “Greening Fast Food Packaging: A Road Map to Best Practices,” highlights the key environmental attributes of fast food packaging and provides a simple path forward to more sustainable packaging. In addition to highlighting companies that have exerted leadership on these key issues, it includes an easy to use survey for fast food chains and individual restaurants to assess their packaging.
