A 2023 Supreme Court decision threatens wetlands across the US. Wetlands that were once regulated are now at risk. They can be dredged, filled, or polluted without consequence. The loss of federal oversight means that protecting wetlands is up to the states. State legislators have the power to enact wetland protections.
