Live from Bonnaroo – Day 2

Day 2 at Bonnaroo and the support has been amazing. Check out our summer intern Melissa's observations on the Planet Roo experience. Check out the video interviews about music packaging.

We are reaching thousands of people and educating them about the damaging impacts of paper packaging on Southern forests – and the reception has been amazing. Hundreds of people each day have stopped by to learn about the music industry's contribution to the packaging problem. We have already collected hundreds of photo petitions of Bonnaroo goers who want to send a message to music industry leaders like Sony BMI and Universal that it's easy being green. We'll have a slideshow of all the fun photos posted on the site next week. And the videos are amazing. Check out are in the news section on the main page to watch them all. Now I am going to pass it on to our amazing summer intern Melissa to write about her experience here over the last couple of days…

Hey Guys! As usual, I'm having an amzing time here at Bonnaroo. It's my fourth year, which I suppose qualifies me as a veteran, but it's my first year here with the Dogwood Alliance and it has elevated my experience to an entirely new plane. Not only do I get to listen to amazing music, but I get to help make a difference. Working in Planet Roo provides such a great excuse for me to approach new people, and just about everyone here has been super supportive. It's both relieving and frustrating to hear so many different acounts of "wrap-rage", or that feeling you have everytime you have to tear through box after box just to get to whatever tiny product you've purchased. I love being able to help, but even more I love having the opportunity to give everyone else a way to help. For the first time, I don't think I'm going to be ready to leave Bonnaroo come Monday!
