Enough Extraction. EPA, Take Action!
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has failed Southern communities. Federal and state agencies have sacrificed the health and climate resiliency of Black, Brown, Indigenous, under-resourced, and rural communities by allowing the biomass wood pellet industry to expand.Wood pellet production:
- emits thousands of tons of air pollution every year
- emits millions of tons of greenhouse gases every year
- has destroyed over 1 million acres of forests in the US South.
